Dear You,
Each and every single one of you is beautiful, whether your know it or not. You all have things about you that make you, you. Embrace these things because they’re a part of you, don’t try and hide them! If people can’t appreciate that, then they’re not worth your time. No one is perfect in my mind, so don’t stress about trying to be perfect - because it’ll never happen, and you’ll never be happy trying to be someone else.
Love, me.
Dear you; ↘
You are more.
You are so much more than you, or anyone else thinks. You are more than your weight, height, body type, size of your jeans, intelligence, appearance, and so on. You’re more important than you think you are, you’re more beautiful, smarter, braver, stronger… You’re way better than you think. Why is it that we always think that we’re worse? We’ve all grown up with the ideas that we’ll never be good enough… Whether it’s for others, or ourselves. I know how it feels to feel like you’re never going to be up to someones standards, that no matter how hard you try its not enough, no matter how hard you try to be perfect - that you’re never quite there… Just not enough. But you know what I believe? You are good enough. And if someone can’t, or refuses to see that, then they’re not worth your time.
You’ll always be good enough for me.
Love, me.
Dear you;
One of the biggest mistakes in life, is living it for someone else. You only have one life, one chance to do it right. Do you really want to live it with regrets?
Stop living it for your parents, or your friends. Now is the time to do what you want to do with it. You may not know what you want yet, you may not know who you are, either. Now is your time to figure that out. Make mistakes, make good choices, but most importantly, make it yours.
Love, me.
Dear you;
Sometimes we all feel lost. Like we’re in a never ending maze… The ones with bizarre mirrors, that distort your appearance. We get lost, and we lose ourselves. We lose ourselves in false appearances, lies, and anything imaginable. We get lost.
There’s a saying “Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.”
But sometimes we need to find ourselves, in order to be able to create ourselves. And that can be one of the hardest challenges we face. When we were younger, we were always told to just be ourselves… Which was weird, because how could we be anyone else? Then we got older, and finally clued in to the whole thing.
Life is like a road trip. We have many stops along the way, we get lost sometimes, and then end up in places we never thought we would, we end up in places that we never even knew existed. People help us along the way, and sometimes we get stuck. Sometimes we are so lost, it feels like there is no way out. A dead end.
Everyone gets lost. Confused. Scared. But that’s just a pit stop.
But you know what? Sometimes it’s not the destination. It’s the way we got there… And it’s not where we’re heading that is important, it’s how we got there. Because how we got there is this little thing called life.
Love, me.
Dear You;
Everyone has secrets. Things that they keep close to them. Things that they’re ashamed of. Things they want to forget. What you see on the outside is almost never exactly what is on the inside. So before you assume you know what someone is going through, before you assume you know someone. Think. Because you never know someones story truly. You can never really know the battles they’ve fought, or the things they’re struggling with. Just don’t judge, because it doesn’t tell you what they’re like, it shows what you’re like.
Before you speak, listen.
Love, me.
Dear You;
Honestly? The only person that you need to live for, is yourself. This is your life, not you friends’, or your parents’, your significant others’ life. It’s yours. So make the choices that are going to make you happy. Do things that you want to do. Be the person that you want to be. Don’t go trying to be someone you’re not. You can spend your whole life pretending to be someone else you’re not, something you’re not - but then it’s not really your life, now is it?
As long as your give it your all, try your best, be yourself, then you’re doing it right.
Yes, we all make mistakes… But that’s what makes us human.
No one and nothing is perfect. Perfect doesn’t exist. It’s just a figment of our imagination, something that was made up, so that we always have something better to be striving for. But you know what? You’ll never be perfect. Because it cant be reached. But you know what you can be? You. You can be the amazing, beautiful, individual that you are.
Love, me.
Dear You;
Even with all your struggles, and challenges - you are a beautiful, strong, amazing person - and you will get through whatever you are going through. You will make it. It may be hard now, but you will conquer this. You are amazing, just the way you are. Don’t let anyone try and change you, but also remember don’t change yourself for someone. You are so much more than what’s just on the outside. You are your character, your heart, your ability to love, your ability to be yourself, and so much more. You are so much more than your hair, your clothes, your body, and every other thing you may think of.
You are YOU, and you are the only person that can do that.
Love, me
Dear You;
I know I’ve said this before, and I’m going to say it again a million times.
But whatever you’re going though, whatever you’re fighting, whatever you’re struggling with - you will get past it all. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, I don’t know where, but I believe that it will. Because you deserve a chance at happiness. Things will get better. Right now, it may feel like you’re in this black hole. You keep on getting sucked farther and farther into it, so far that it may seem like there is no light up ahead. But it’s there, and it’s waiting for you to realize that.
It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.
Just realize that there is a light. But you have to be the one to make the decision that you want to see it. You need to want to get better, to see past all the darkness in your life. Because sometimes, the only person that can save us is ourselves. After you accept that, there are going to be people along the way that will help you, support you, and want you to conquer this. But above all, you have to make the decision to want to get better. And after that, there’s only one direction to go - up.
Love, me.
Dear You;
Yeah, you.
The one that tries to hard to make it seem that nothing’s wrong, the person that always has things under control, the one that tries so hard to be perfect. It’s so easy, yet to hard to put on the act that everything is okay. Yeah, it’s easy to always play the part, and make everything seem fine. But it’s also the hardest thing to do - pretend everything is okay, while you’re falling apart inside. You’re not the first, nor the last person that is going to lie when someone asks you how you are. You’re not the first, or the last person to put that fake smile on, and use that fake laugh. But, honestly? Is it really helping you? Keeping everything bottled up inside, until finally you just lose it?
No, it’s not. Just be who you are, embrace your feelings - no matter what they are. The best type of happiness is the type that’s genuine. Not the fake one plastered over your face. Having emotions shows that we’re human. Embrace your sadness, let it out. Keeping in all inside isn’t going to do much good. Striving to be perfect is just a losing battle. No one and nothing is perfect. Not even you. And that is perfectly alright. Just be you, because that’s the best person there is.
Love, me.
Dear You;
You’re such a beautiful person - inside and out. I don’t really know what else to say, except for that… There’s going to be times where you doubt that, but please try not to, if not for me, then for yourself. Because it’s true. Yeah, sometimes we can be our own greatest enemy - but try to look beyond that, and see yourself for what you truly are - beautiful.
Love, me.
Dear You;
I’m just going to come out and say it: You’re never going to be able to please everyone. I’ve been there, tried that. It just doesn’t work. You keep on thinking that if you can make other people happy, if you can live up to others’ expectations and standards - then you will finally be happy with yourself. In all honesty, that’s not how it works. You keep on trying to do better and better, to keep up with everyone else… And then it just falls apart.
When you try you best, but you don’t succeed, when you get what you want, but not what you need…
The only thing you need, is for you to be happy. If you do all this work, try so hard to please everyone else, and at the end of the day, you’re not happy… Then what’s the point? Do what makes you happy, do what you enjoy, because the only thing you need to do is make yourself happy… You need to be happy with yourself.
Love, me.
Dear you;
I want you to know something.
I am always going to be there for you, no matter what you’re going through.
The happy times, the bad times, and everything in between…I promise that I will be by your side, fighting for and with you.
I will not give up on you.
Love, me.
Dear You;
I know i’ve said it before… and I’ll say it again.
Yeah, sometimes it feels like you’re all alone, like you have nobody.
But all you really need is one person. The one person that will allow you to lean on them, the one person that’s there for you no matter what. Whether it’s a friend, relative, parent - or anything else… Try and find that one person. If you have more than one person, then that’s awesome for you! Yes, some things you will have to go through alone, but sometimes two is better than one. Find that one person that you know will always be there for you. And don’t let go of them, because you don’t find amazing people like that all the time. So hold on tight.
Love, me.
